Reveal

Reveal’s investigations will inspire, infuriate and inform you. Host Al Letson and an award-winning team of reporters deliver gripping stories about caregivers, advocates for the unhoused, immigrant families, warehouse workers and formerly incarcerated people, fighting to hold the powerful accountable. The New Yorker described Reveal as “a knockout … a pleasure to listen to, even as we seethe.” A winner of multiple Peabody, duPont, Emmy and Murrow awards, Reveal is produced by the nation’s first investigative journalism nonprofit, The Center for Investigative Reporting, and PRX. From unearthing exploitative working conditions to exposing the nation’s racial disparities, there’s always more to the story. Learn more at revealnews.org/learn.

Love the addition
May 22
Thank you for your ongoing work and the addition of “more to the story”. It’s a great alternative to “the daily”, and I appreciate that y’all are transphobic or genocide deniers like the NYT is!
Another show that spreads propaganda
May 24
The latest episode claims to have expert testimony yet conveniently forgets to share that Al Jazeera is a propaganda run media company paid for by none other than Qatar. Multiple children with headshot wounds? You mean like those carried out by Hamas - an actual terrorist organization. It’s sad when these so called podcasters purport to be real journalists but then again the state of the current mainstream media tells us all we need to know. Too bad - had high hopes for this podcast but here we are. Yet again.
Deep reporting

Consistently impressed with the depth of the reporting in Reveal. Encourages me to be more skeptical about power and politics in the US.
Lessons from a mass shooter’s mother
May 21
How can this podcast cover an episode on mass shooting, especially one that involved blatant misogyny, and not discuss the root issues of toxic masculinity, patriarchy, and white supremacist values that are central to nearly all mass shootings throughout history? “97% of people who do things like this are socially isolated,” yes but 98% of people who do this are men. The lack of engagement with the topic of patriarchy/toxic masculinity and dismissal of incel rhetoric/beliefs present in this podcast is irresponsible. Respect to the Chin, the mother for wanting to help others learn from her experience. Unfortunately her noble efforts to help others through her own painful experience do not come through in this podcast. This podcast focused far too much on the killer and less about how to learn when to intervene or address the root causes of violence. This podcast did a disservice to the victims and survivors of the shooting and did not acknowledge the significance of discussing men’s violence towards women.
