Wow, Jake’s story is that of resilience, grit and determination. He is an inspiration and deserves only “best luck” moving forward. Wonderfully narrated and written as well!
Misleading

Jake is awesome and his story is awesome, but the first episode of this podcast is incredibly misleading. It insinuated that while he was in a coma, someone confessed something to him because they didn’t think he’d survive. Who was that someone and what were those confessions? Also, there’s just one entire episode of a woman describing Münchausen syndrome but we don’t even know for sure if that’s what El has so it was a complete waste of an episode. I feel like some episodes were just filler episodes (like that one). This podcast initially had me hooked, but now it’s dragging along like they don’t know how to end it. But if you’re a person who loves inspirational stories, you might like this.

I’m not sure when this began, but somewhere back there, Americans stopped speaking English. I’m not talking about all of our different cultures speaking all of our different languages, I’m talking about the people in this country who were raised in English speaking environments, but wander around murdering the English language on a daily basis. We have the really obvious ones like, “I seen” (that one is hopeless) and then we have one that seems to be reserved by and for young women only. It happens with words like ‘certain’ or ‘beaten’. So two-syllable words that use the letter T as the first sound of the second syllable. CER-TAIN. BEA-TEN. That T isn’t silent, and dropping it in favor of: CER-AIN or BEA-EN doesn’t sound cute or sexy. I promise you it doesn’t. I’m just one of many out here who took you seriously until you dropped that T in ‘certain’. There was a time when a person working in communications would NEVER do a thing like that. Unheard of. I don’t know what’s happened here, but we have seriously dumbed down in this country, and I don’t understand why such obviously intelligent, capable young women would want to contribute to that.

Stopped listening after I looked up court proceedings and guess what isn’t included in them?? THE SPERM. Nowhere is any of the documentation is there anything about getting his sperm back. Yet the lawyer speaks in the podcast. This is very unethical storytelling by the host. They tease an angle that doesn’t come until the 11th hour and don’t have any fact checking that is happening. Very disappointing
